Dee Turner - N4GD, Section Manager

Section Staff

Dennis Griffin, W4DG - Assistant Section Manager, OOC & Webmaster

The section manager is elected by ARRL membership in the WCF section, to serve a two year term.   The rest of the appointees serve at the discretion of the Section Manager.

Section Manager -  Responsible for managing the Field Organization programs in the section. The SM is not involved in League policy-making (although he or she may have a strong voice in such matters)--this is a function reserved for the division director. The SM's main job is to recruit, through several subordinate program managers or coordinators, League volunteers to staff eight crucial program areas: emergency communications, message traffic, volunteer monitoring, RFI problem-solving, support of affiliated clubs, government liaison, encouragement of technical activities, and dissemination of on-the-air bulletins.

State Government Liaison Is knowledgeable on state legislative and regulatory proposals. The SGL needs to be a amateur radio operator who can monitor and respond appropriately to those proposals having the potential to affect Amateur Radio. This is an active, responsive mission, not merely a passive, "stand by the sidelines and watch" function.

Recruitment of new hams and League members is an integral part of the job of every League appointee. Appointees should take advantage of every opportunity to recruit a new ham or member to foster growth of Field Organization programs, and our abilities to serve the public.
